There are over
2500 denominations in the United States alone; yet, the Bible says
that Jesus calls His people into just one fold or church. With such a
large body of churches, it becomes virtually impossible to fully
examine the doctrines of them all. How, then, is one to find the true
church? And, does God really have one today?
1.
Does Christ have a church? _____
“Christ
also loved the church, and gave himself for it. That he might present
it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any
such thing” (Eph. 5:25, 27).
2.
Who heads this church?
“And
he [Jesus] is
the head of the body, the church”
(Col 1:18).
3.
What is the foundation of this church?
“And
are built upon the
foundation of the apostles and
prophets, Jesus Christ
himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building
fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord”
Eph. 2:20
4. How
many churches does Christ have?
“And
other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must
bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be
one fold”
(John 10:16).
5.
What is one of the major hallmarks of this church?
“Here
is the patience of the saints: here are they that
keep the
commandments of God,
and the faith of Jesus”
(Rev. 14:12).
This includes the seventh-day Sabbath of the Ten Commandments. (John
14:15, Rev. 22:14).
6. Will
this church be a local church only?
“And
I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting
gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to
every nation,
and kindred, and tongue, and people”
(Rev. 14:6).
The church must be part of a worldwide body.
7.
What message does it preach?
God’s
judgment
has come. Worship Him!
Spiritual
Babylon is fallen.
Come out!
Don’t worship the beast
or you’ll receive his mark. (See Rev. 14:6-14).
8. What
will this church do until Christ returns?
“Go ye therefore,
and
teach
all nations,
baptizing them in the name of
the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to
observe all things
whatsoever I have commanded you”
(Matt. 28:19, 20).
9. How
does one joint this church?
“For
by one Spirit are we all
baptized into one body,
whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or
free” (1 Cor. 12:13).
10.
Are
you willing to become part of God’s end-time true church?
